Internet is challenging traditional boundaries between patients, doctors - The Boston Globe

Internet today has many issues. Here i wanna discuss one interesting social issue: how Internet is challenging traditional boundaries between patients, doctors - The Boston Globe.
My opinion about this social ethic dilemma is uniquely. I think that it absolutelly unappopriate phycologist to be a friend with his patience. All work deals should be private. Too much knowleges about your doctor can cause distrust . Seeing pictures where your phycologist is on the party, dancing and drinking, for example, may change your attitude to him as to the professional. Talking about the patient, probably, yes, it can be helpful sometimes to have a look which representation of himself, patient put on social network. But, still, i believe that it should be trust between doctor and person who ask a help.
Why people wanna be friends with their phycologists ? Whats the purpose of this ? Communication? I don`t think so... because you can text or email any time. Just be a friend because you know each other ?? or interest ?! Being friends on Facebook, for example, means to be able to see who is other friends of your doctor, probably who is his wife, kids, or girlfriend/boyfriend, which political views he share, which music he likes, how he communicates with other friends etc. All these knowleges cause talks, discussions, extra thoughts. For clients doctor can have special site, may be separate page in Facebook or another social network, but just for working purposes. Phycologist it is a special case among other doctors, because it undermine work with people`s mind, not with people`s body, like in any other part of medicine. So, to conclude, i`m assure that phycologist and his patient should have just professional relationship !!

On the site that i`ve linked a lot of comments about this topic. And most of them are an opposite to my opinion. WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION FOR THIS ETHIC DILEMMA ?
